0098 – The Foxhole Commandments

In the words of Monty Python, “now for something completely different.”

The Foxhole Commandments
I.
When you think it is deep enough, go down another foot.
II.
Share what you have with your buddies.
No one knows when the beans and bullets will arrive again.
III.
When everything goes south, and it will, there is always room for one more.
Remember some day you may be the one needing a hole.
IV.
Like you, the person beside you has earned the right to wear that uniform, respect them for that.
V.
You do not have to agree with everyone but have their backs anyway.
VI.
Even if you do not like to read, be able to read the words “Front toward enemy”.
Practice those words everyday.
VII.
Weather is what happens when you live outdoors.
You are in Mother Nature’s living room, not your own.
Do not complain.
VIII.
The enemy will gas us soon enough.
They do not need your help so take that s**t outside.
IX.
When in doubt, increase your fire.
X.
Don’t be a D**k.
