0061 - Recovering the OT-64 - Turn 10

1030 26 JUL 2000
=============

"It was like puttin' down rabid dogs. You need to put 'em down quick and make sure that they stayed that way. Just wingin' 'em just made 'em mad. A lot of lead was flyin' but we were close to eliminating the threat. You have to keep remindin' yourself that they were long gone beyond what we called human. Just keep sayin' to yourself over and over."

The team is out of danger. Three primitives remain but two are wounded. Still, as the rules for the encounter dictate, they will just keep coming until they cannot move anymore.

Initiative Step 5

Actions:
  • Potato will bat away the spear and attempt another aimed strike at the primitives head.

Order of Actions:
  • Potato (Agl 4)

Play:
Potato attempts an aimed strike at the head of the Novice Polish primitive #11.

[Aimed strike at the primitive's head – Asset Level 15 – Formidable (x1/2) – Target Number 7 – Roll(s): 16] - As if reading Potato's intention, the primitive dodges the attack, probably saving his life.

Initiative Step 4

Actions:
  • Macron will fire at Novice Polish primitive #15
  • Mitchell will also fire at Novice Polish primitive #15

Order of Actions:
  • Mitchell (Agl 5 – Bulk 5 = 0)
  • Macron (Agl 4 – Bulk 5 = -1)

Play:
Mitchell fires twice at the primitive. The range is Close.

[Shoot twice at Novice Polish primitive #15 – Asset Level 7 – Difficult (x1 – Quick shot at close range) – Target Number 7, 5 on the second shot due to recoil – Roll(s): 7,18] - One hit. Mitchell hits the primitive in the right for 8 points of damage. The primitive remains knocked down and will miss his turn again this round. In addition, he is now seriously wounded.

Macron fires at Novice Polish primitive #15. The range is Close.

[Shoot Novice Polish primitive #15 three times – Asset Level 13 – Difficult (x1 – Quick shot at close range) – Target Number 13, 12 on the last shot due to recoil – Roll(s): 18, 3, 7] - Two hits, including one outstanding success. Macron also hits the primitive in chest (11×2
×2 = 44 - Chest hit with an Outstanding Success) and the right leg (11) for a total of 55 points of damage. The primitive has had enough and succumbs to his wounds.

Initiative Step 3

Actions:
  • Marshall remains on overwatch
  • Logan will fire two rounds at Novice Polish primitive #20

Order of Actions:
  • Marshall (Agl 5)
  • Logan (Agl 5 – Bulk 5 = 0)

Play:
Marshall stays vigilant on the flank.

Logan fires at Novice Polish primitive #20. The range is Close.

[Fire twice at Novice Polish primitive #20 – Asset Level 10 – Difficult (x1 – Quick shot at close range) – Target Number 10 – Roll(s): 2,2] - Both rounds hit. One round hits the primitive in the right leg for 6 points of damage. The other hits him in the right arm (8). The primitive is knocked down and will not be able to finish reloading his crossbow.

Initiative Step 2

Actions:
  • Robinson will reload his AKR
  • Griffin will fire two rounds at Novice Polish primitive #11.

Order of Actions
  • Robinson (Agl 7)
  • Griffin (Agl 6 – Bulk 5 = 1)

Play:
Robinson drops his magazine before slamming another one home.

Griff fires at his primitive. The range is close.

[Fire twice at the primitive – Asset Level 12 – Difficult (x1 – Quick shot at close range) – Target Number 12, 10 on the second due to recoil – Roll(s): 18, 3] - One hit. The primitive is hit in the abdomen (16). The primitive is knocked down and will lose his turn.

Initiative Step 1

Actions:
  • Harris will drop prone and deploy his bipod.
  • Klasha will remain aboard the HMMWV
  • Novice Polish primitive #11 misses his turn, as he is knocked down
  • Novice Polish primitive #20 misses his turn, as he is knocked down

Order of Actions:
  • Harris (Agl 5)
  • Klasha (Agl 4)

Play:
Harris drops prone and guards the flank with his L7.

Klasha remains in the vehicle, awaiting the outcome.

At the end of the round two primitives remain, both of which have been shot off their feet. One could count it as a victory if there were not so many people bleeding.
